Yesterday I went for a walk
Yesterday I was at the dam.
I sat on its walls and watched the water flow by
I hit my hands at its feet and screamed out my fear
…I laid my head on its old shoulders and cried away my pain …
Yesterday I sat at the feet of the old apple tree in my garden.
I leaned my back at its trunk and watched the sun set,
I played with the butterflies and forgot my sadness,
I soaked my feet in the grass and mother earth comforted me…
Yesterday I walked the streets of my hometown
I put on my shoes to guard my feet from the flinders of the past,
I met my ex and smiled at last at what he had done,
I saw a couple swinging- holding hands and thought: “That is forever…”
Yesterday I entered my home and knew we’ll be ok.
